Emotional compliment to other music

Score Catalog can be that perfect complement to trendy libraries or songs that are lacking in emotional theatrical-quality score.  Many projects can’t be wall-to-wall songs and often call for something different in that emotional part of the story. 

My catalog specializes in universally emotive scores which can be an essential asset to any project or company.

Familiar iTunes and Soundminer application

Instead of creating a proprietary application to search through and use the catalog, I decided to take advantage of one that almost everyone seems to know how to use, Apple’s iTunes software.  This makes it easier for everyone to find the music they’re looking for (instead of taking the time to learn a new piece of software).  And if you’d like to use another piece of software (like Soundminer) to search and manage our catalog, you can use that too as long as it uses ID3 tags and allows you to search the “comment” field (that’s where we store keyword info).

Simple keyword search

In order to find the music you’re looking for, you need some keywords, and I’ve got lots of ‘em. There are keywords to describe Genre, Type, Mood, Key, Era, Meter, Tempo, Full Mix/Stem, and Featured Instrument(s).  Use as many or as few words as you’d like to narrow or broaden your search.

And because the tracks are from real projects, if you’ve found something in the catalog that you like but isn’t quite right, you may find what you’re looking for by listening to the rest of the project’s music.

Surround & stem mixes

On most of the tracks, I have the stems and surround mixes in addition to the standard stereo files you will receive with the catalog.  Stems are great for those times when, for example, that Jethro Tull inspired flute solo may not be what you’re looking for, but the instrumentation below it is.  Don’t worry, this is just an example of the process.

AIFF or MP3 Versions

The catalog is available in both MP3 and AIFF versions on either DVD disc or for local hard drive.  Let me know what’s best for you and I’ll make sure you can access the catalog that way.

Why not an online library?

With the local version, there is an immediacy to searching, graphing, modifying searches on the fly, listening, and ultimately GETTING the track in the editorial timeline that just doesn't happen with web based online solutions.  I've found that once people start using it this way, the speed, flexibility, and ease of use provided by a local library is often preferred.

One stop licensing, real scores

There are few single sources of real scores priced affordably and pre-cleared for immediate licensing.  Typically, it is a slow and expensive proposition negotiating with film studios to obtain “real” film scores. I’ve been diligently collecting and organizing my catalog of underscore for many years.  This collection of music enables those without endless budgets to now get more choices of better fitting high quality recordings of score for their projects.

Vetted by directors & producers

My catalog contains work that was originally created for released projects, not for a music library.  Every track in the catalog was produced with the highest regard to musicianship and recording that is necessary when making original music for the most demanding of clients (directors, producers, and ad creatives at the top of their fields). It is filled with exceptional live performances of bands, orchestras, exotic instruments and featured soloists heard on hit recordings throughout the world.  I can also create a bigger soundtrack for your current project by combining newly composed themes fortified by stems from Score Catalog.
